Thank you LPD for taking the front lines may all injured have a speedy recovery.
The obvious question we ask (someone will) is what message can we learn from this? UMMM it doesn’t take a big IQ to figure out the answer. If this story happened in the south of France it would be open season for all ideallists. But no, it happened in our own front yard and it is greed and selfishness that caused this. These gangsters move here and in many cases pick on us because they are welcomed with open arms and receive no opposition. Again even that small IQ would dictate not to oppose any unsavory creatures on your own. But by all means the arrogant thoughtless moron who put these animals in our midst should be opposed and outed in all possible ways. This town has potential to be a beautiful place to live, physically and spiritually, but to some town ends on their own street corner.
My prayers are with the officers, especialy Lt. Greg Meyer, who is by far the must nicest guy
the lakewood police keeps our community safe! they even risk their lives! lets take a moment to thank them for their courageous work! Thanks!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the LPD and the injured officers. Greg Meyer is a great man and a great friend of the community.

Now I know all who were shot and I wish alla speedy recovery.
And as before I only hope that the communitywill now see that officer Wilson is a dedicated officer who puts his life on the line to protect Lakewood from the monsters who lurk amongst us. Kuddos to oficer Wilson,Nieves,Sgt.Sasso,
Yes, it is owned by an investor
To all the members of the LPD:
May God bless you and your families for your bravery and courage and may He send all of you a quick recovery.
This is the courage that the wives and family members of all of our uniformed members of this great country have to live with: Will my spouse come home safely tonight…
Godspeed to all of you!
My wishes are extended to every one of our police officers and fellow citizens for a full and complete recovery that will allow them to speedily return and continue their outstanding work in our town’s protective force.
On a side note, it remains a fact that oftentimes an officer’s life is literally on the line, even when engaged in seemingly non-dangerous situations. But… without belittling the courage exhibited on this police assignment, I wonder if any of us common citizens, who may have access to a deadly weapon of any sort in our homes, would experience this sudden / dead of night / “no-knock warrant” situation where armed people that look like they’re dressed to kill would barge into without any warning whatsoever.. I suspect that many would not wait to ask questions as to who/what the mystery invading attacker’s intentions are.. but would act to protect themselves first and ask questions later when there will be more time than just a split-second to decide…
Granted, I am unfamiliar with the details. If I am wrong, then I would like to stand corrected. However, with the trickle of info that has come out so far, it appears that the public has the right to understand the wisdom behind this particular police action..

1154 Mackenzie Court – this house is owned by a “frum” investor!!
what a disgrace!!
thanks for putting our children and families in harms way while you make a buck on our chesbone!!
Our hearts and prayers go out for the LPD officers and their families. As our holy day of Yom Kippur approaches we will definitely have Lakewood’s finest in mind in our prayers. Thanks LPD for as always doing an outstanding job.
My thoughts and prayers are with ALL of the officers who risk their lives every day to keep our town safe. Unfortonately we do not always see this with our own eyes and it sometimes takes a tragedy like this for us to realize that PD doesn’t just cruise around in their cars in a risk-free setting. This can happen at any time.
A great thank you goes to all the officers of LPD. My prayers are with the injured officers and their families. Greg you are the BEST guy out there. We want you back quickly. Hope all goes well and you recover real soon along with all the others. Officer Wilson although we all know the controversy surrounding a recent action of his must be thanked from the bottom of our hearts for risking his life for us. Thank you Officer Wilson and may you and the others have a full recovery very quick. May those that committed this heinous crime be caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
To 7:12 am
I find it funny that you are asking to post the homeowners name that probably had no idea what type of people were hanging out in a home in the outskirts of town. Meanwhile our downtown is filled with hispanic stores paying extremely high rents that you never see a customer purchasing anything. All are owned by jews, some by our own askonim. The cops know they are fronts to launder drug money. That is why these “chalerios” are in our town. This is wall street for them.these askonim and landlords have told me they don’t want to know how these stores can afford the high rents they are willing to pay. They are true accessories to the drug trade in our town. We must find a way to close down each of these fronts and show the druglords that lakewood is not a welcome place for them.the police have told me they know for a fact that this is going on in the downtown and they only have the power to take down the middlemen. Put the downtown landlords against the wall their greed has destroyed the face and backbone of our city. Better yet call the ICE (immigration and customs enforcement) hotline for anonymous tips. I did already and the more people that call the better chance we have of them closing down the multimillion dollar drug machine our own askonim have allowed to flourish in our front yard. Instead of complaining about a few clueless landlords renting to their employees.
Which one has the higher IQ- the one who rents to these people on the outskirts of the community (and may have been renting there since before it was even the outskirts) to make a few bucks or those who move their familirs into such an area to save a few bucks?
why bash the frum investor ? what exactly did he do wrong was there trouble before with this tenant? do u think he knew what his tenant was up to? most tenants are law abiding upstanding citizens.
My prayers go out to the officers, their families, and the entire police department at this time. Our thanks for your service and sacrifice can never be enough.
Kudos also to TLS because this was the first place I saw this information earlier this morning.
Firstly i dont think the pd burst into the home without warning thats what the swat team does, while i dont know they most probably knocked on the door identified themselves as pd and said they have a search warrant. i dont believe regular pd practice or are even trained for that matter in burst in entry
I know the owner he is Not an investor. I think he bought the house to live and then decided to buy a elsewhere he is a very nice person so please leave him alone.

Pressure should be put on these homeowners! They should not be allowed to rent to anyone they wish to make a buck at the communities expense!
Speedy recovery men. Thanks for keeping my hometown safe.
To ANSWER TO SCEPTIC: The beginning of your sentenance “firstly”? & I don’t think thats the one thing you got right. The sceptic made an appropriate and valid observation within their comment and thats all it is. You would be better suited to have your comments more apt to acceptance in another comment area where those types of lame rebuttles are mainstream and well accepted. Just an observation. To Lakewood N.J.s Finest, you study and train long and hard and your training is paying off in dividends just knowing everyone is alive. Kudos to all of you for knowing the dark reality of the job and embracing it on such a professional level.
To do what has to be done to rid criminal activity no matter the level of danger from our streets for the safety of all at whole.
Thank You
whats wrong with you not everyone who owns a house is an investor be ceareful what you say it is EREV YOM KIPPUR
to Answer to sceptic,
I thank you for attempting to better my understanding of the sequence of events in this very unfortunate event. However, I don’t believe you are correct.
Several other media outlets have reported in the name of our County Prosecutor that the “SWAT” police officers were executing a “no-knock warrant.” By definition, this means that the law enforcement officers should enter a property WITHOUT knocking and WITHOUT identifying themselves as police.
Historically, these circumstances have led to many tragedies when armed homeowners, believing that they are being invaded, have shot at officers, resulting in deaths on both sides. In addition, there have been cases where burglars have robbed homes by pretending to be officers with a no-knock warrant. Quite obviously, this particular method drastically heightens the risks involved in any police action of this nature.
I had a minor incident a few years back where apparently I didn’t come to a complete stop where I should have. About a block or so later I noticed that I was being followed by an older model Camry or similar type car. I was followed for several blocks until my driveway, when the other driver, who looked like some thug jumped out and demanded my driving docs. I lowered my windshield just enough to tell him that he’s not getting anything from me until he identifies himself, at which point he did and I fully complied. He actually congratulated me on keeping my composure and not engaging in any heated dialogue (or worse) until I first verified who he was.
My point is that police work is dangerous and we the taxpayers want to make sure our officers have adequate protections both in terms of physical gear and strategy planning. We also don’t want it costing us too much when something awful happens. I am not qualified to second-guess the professionals involved in the decision-making process. But I still wonder loudly as to the wisdom behind this action..
Greg is an unbelievable person god will heal him fast
To our dear officers you are in my prayers everday to return home safe and healthy. May g-d watch and protect the police force of our town and may the injured have a speedy recovery. Amen
What is someone who rents out a property if not an investor? Even if he bought to eventually use, until he actually does so he is no different than any other investor. The goes for someone who rents out a house instead of selling after he moves.
mr ga if it was your house you would understand.
Are you out to lunch!!
If it was you who lived next door YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND!!!
If you had children living next door YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND!
What do we need to happen inorder for the ‘investors to realize that they should move their investment to Asbury or Trenton!??
ALL INVESTRS SHOULD BE TOLD TO SELL. We should not stand for this just so they should make a buck.
MAYBE YOU WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND!
my heart goes out to officer NIEVES, if anyone in town ever spoke to him they know that he is the type of officer of a long time ago. someone that you can tell your child to look up to as a role model. GET WELL SOON and get back to what you do best,
an admirer of officer NIEVES
How many people need to be shot because you are an investor?
How many people need to be abused because you are an investor?
How many people need to be scared to go outside because you are an investor?
Over 75% of Lakewood Public School Students live in homes OWNED BY INVESTORS!!!
GET A LIFE!
to ga some people are stuck with the house and now no one will offer him the price because he must sell, thats what i mean that he is not an investor he made a bad decision and he is stuck with it
What would I understand if what was my house? I am neither an investor nor a resident of an area with such problems. When I bought my house I took the surroundings into account and compromised on other things FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY. Others chose not to do so and moved into an area with “preexisting conditions”. This is not Obamacare! You must live with the results of your decision! I am not nogaya either way. If “it” was my house I would understand with my negiyus the same way others ynderstand with theirs. This is not an issue which is clear cut eithre way and must be dealt with on a case by case basis.
May the officers get a fast recovery. They spend their time helping the community. You really have to be greatful.
I know Officer Nieves n Officer Wilson..They are great people!! my heart and prayers goes out to them and their families!!!
You are totally off base . There is nothing wrong with owning a rental property . You are however obligated to be prudent and do background and criminal checks on your prospective tenants . It is ridicu;lous and ANTI HALACHA to say that every homeowne who chooses not to live in his house for the trime being ,must sell his house at any price . As long as you reasonably belierve tat after checking ,the tenant is a good person ,then you may rent to him .
These guys are truly lakewoods finest. We owe it to them and ourselves to help them and report all illegal activity to landlords that harbor these criminals for money. Then if they don’t listen. They are considered accessories to these drug and gun dealers.
the owner of the house is a yungeran who I was in my elementary class. he is a serious guy and had no idea what type of people he was renting to. I am sure he has major charata now and does not need the whole lakewood bashing him now.
“Serious” or no, he was certainly aware that he was renting to individuals not of our community. Had he done a simple background check, he’d have learned of his prospective tenants criminal past. He purchased the house in 2004 from a previous Jewish owner. In 2004 there were already numerous families from our community living in that area. Sometimes an investment goes sour – there’s absolutly no justification to attempt to recoup ones losses on the back of fellow yidden.
