  1. Soon the unions will tell us how terrible it is that we are laying off teachers.

Thank you for standing up for the children and the taxpayers, and not backing down from all the negativity put out there by the unions and the special interests.

  2. Does this mean that we will be seeing fewer Board of Education cars driving around on Sunday (which is not a school day for the public school system)?

  3. I am sure that the positions cut will need to be filled, savings only on newer teacher [if they would want to come to Lakewood]
Don’t be so quick to judge, non-performance according to whom?

  4. Close the Public schools? Is what is going to happen? How soon? Will they send to Jackson or Brick? It will be cheaper for us

  5. the public schools are a mess. If it’s possible to send our children to brick or jackson I am sure all the parents would welcome the move. How do I do this without moving. The children need a new direction, jackson and brick east and west

  6. First off, public education is a RIGHT and NO PUBLIC school in Lakewood is and will close! Layoffs of teachers of ALL KIND were made, so when you make these negative comments and vote NO for our school budget, you are affecting “your community” as well!!! But I guess that’s more important when in actuality taxes will go up because you use Lakewood PUBLIC bussing!

  7. They should be cut…nd maybe replace the 40 that care…exactly i jus read they cut funding for special Ed..lakewood schools are useless n they have people workin in our school without the education to do so what happened to having a degree in teaching just to work in any school….

  8. The public schools are a mess and no one is helping, only cutting.
Other districts do not have to take our children. Cutting is not the answer. Everyone should read what happens to public schools if they are not fixed. Charter schools will not be the answer. Everone read what happens if Christie puts in Charter schools. You will be shocked.

  9. I KNOW FROM A FACT, THAT THESE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN IN THEIR POSITIONS FOR 15 YRS OR MORE. SORRY, IT IS NOT DUE TO THEIR PERFORMANCE, IT IS THE WORK OF THE BOARD AND IT IS INDEED DUE TO THE BUDGET, DON’T LET THIS BOARD BUFFALO YOU AS THEY HAVE BEEN DOING. I THANK GOD EVERYDAY THAT I RETIRED FROM THE DISTRICT AND DO NOT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THEM ANYMORE..
