The New Jersey Legislature passed a revised Fiscal Year 2021 budget that includes Governor Murphy’s prized agenda on it.
The $32.7 billion budget includes a significant income tax hike on the state’s highest earners, a priority on Governor Murphy’s agenda since taking office. Lawmakers had been staunchly opposed to the income tax hike on millionaires, but relented after striking a deal with the governor.
The deal between Governor Murphy and legislators was centered around a 1-time $500 tax rebate that will be refunded to most New Jersey taxpayers.
The budget passed in the Legislature will now head to Governor Murphy for his signature. He is expected to sign it without any reservations.
another case of robbing Peter to pay Paul, or, in other words, socialism.
A royal bait and switch. He knew his Executive Order for this budget was illegal (he cannot make laws) so when he was threatened with a lawsuit he passed the buck on to the legislature and guess what? They’ll just grab it to continue the decades of waste, fraud, and corruption. That’s why we needed an inflated budget with higher taxes. Don’t let the $500 bribe influence your vote. It’s a kick-back.
What happens when all the over taxed rich move out of the State. I know, the hard working tax paying middle class will have to make up the money that the rich would have payed.
This knucklehead governor will never cut any of his free bee programs, he will just tax the remaining people until we are all on government assistance.
