A missing woman from Lakewood was found dead, in what appears to be a murder-suicide.
At about 7:34 a.m. yesterday, the Holmdel Police Department received a 911 call reporting a male hanging from a Comcast truck in the parking lot located at 22 South Holmdel Road.
Holmdel Police responded to find a male, later identified as Tyree Johnson, 32, of Jackson Township, hanging from the bucket of the Comcast Truck. Holmdel Police subsequently responded to 2506 Lexington Court in Jackson, which was identified as Johnson’s possible residence, to make the death notification to the decedent’s family.
Prior to their arrival, Holmdel Police notified the Jackson Township Police Department for assistance with the death notification. Once at the residence, the Officers were not able to make contact with anyone. Utilizing a key located among Johnson’s belongings, the Officers entered the residence. Immediately upon entering the home, they discovered a strong odor coming from within the residence. As they searched the interior of the residence, they came upon the body of a female lying on the kitchen floor. Upon closer examination, they found the female, later identified as Christy Keronen, 29, of Lakewood, deceased with apparent head trauma.
The responding officers immediately secured the scene and called for the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Major Crimes Unit, Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI and the Ocean County Medical Examiner to respond. The Ocean County Medical Examiner pronounced the decedent at 4:09 p.m. and provided positive identification of the victim.
OCPO Major Crimes Unit Detective and the Jackson Township Police responded to Lakewood to make notification to Ms. Keronen’s family. They spoke to Christy’s brother, advised him of the passing of his sister and learned that he had reported her missing to the Lakewood Police Department earlier in the day. He stated that the last time he had seen her was on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at approximately 9 a.m.
“The investigation, which at this point indicates a murder / suicide, continues in order to definitively substantiate that conclusion,” the Prosecutor’s Office said. There is no reason to believe that this event poses any threat to the community.

Very important news for the Heimish tzibbur. I assume Misaskim was not an integral part if the investigation.
Ridiculous!! Lakewood just gets worse and worse!! The world is coming to an end and it’s coming quick!!
Kali Burgos
You are right, but its not just Lakewood, its happening in Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, — all the inner cities are being destroyed by this violence.
Senora M.
You are a sick self-centered person. Life doesn’t revolve around misaskim. There are other people in the world besides you, and unlike you we have a heart for all people and their suffering.
You are the reason that Eisav Sonei Es Yaakov
so sad, what a horrible thing to happen
@yid
It is unclear whether your comment or that of Senora M is more ridiculous.
Senora M, for reasons related to what you referenced.
However, your comment should not be left to stand unaddressed. Esav sonei es Yaakov is NOT a reality brought about by current actions of klal yisroel. It is a davar muskam u’mekubal (accepted as fact) that the hatred is a fact of our reality (galus). Just as the world survives on the presence of breathable oxygen, so to is Esav sonei es Yaakov.
Certain characteristics of the world will change in the days of Moshiach. All inhabitants will see clearly the Emes of HaShem, and there will be no capacity for hatred. May we be zoche to this revelation speedily, in our days!
G’mar Chasima Tova!
Terrible, just awful news. Death is always an awful thing, regardless of race or religion. One untimely death is one too many.
Prayers with the family. So sorry for your loss.
since when is crime something new ? started 5777 years ago and never stopped.
To Yid
Your comment is a perversion of a mammar Chazal. Esov Sonei leyaakov is not dependent on anybody’s misbehavior. According to you it is a justified sinah, which is not what Chazal meant. Please be careful when misinterpreting divrie Chazal.
I agree with Yid 100%
Wow sad prayers go out to they famies
To Kali Burgos- what does this have to do with “what’s happening to Lakewood?” the murder happened in Jackson, the suicide in Holmdel. The only connection to Lakewood is that this young murdered girl was from Lakewood. As tragic as the story is, it has nothing to do with crime in Lakewood.
I worked with this woman just a month ago! I can’t believe that this could have happened to her!
