Longtime Lakewood Fire Commissioner Juan Ortiz has resigned, TLS has learned.
Ortiz, who served as a Fire Commissioner in Lakewood for 13 years, cited personal reasons for his resignation.
“I thank everyone for their cooperation, assistance and backing for the last 13 years,” Ortiz told TLS. “It has been an honor and a privilege to have served Lakewood.”
Ortiz, also a longtime firefighter in Lakewood, will remain as a member of the Fire Department.
A temporary replacement will take his place until February, when a new commissioner will be voted in.
