Just one day after the Jackson School District announced it was no longer requiring masks within the District, the Lakewood School District announced it will be following suit – though only partially.
According to the notice, students will no longer be required to wear masks on buses or outdoors during extreme heat, but will still be required to wear them inside the buildings.
See the just-released notice below.
Mask Mandate June 9 2021 (English and Spanish) w
Oh, the stupidity of this. Buses are more crowded but no masks. We still need you to wear masks in class. The allure of power! Just to hold on to power and control a little bit longer….
This is a bit worthless. So basically, on a day considered to be extreme heat (what temperature is that??) the Superintendent will notify the bus company who will notify the drivers that on that day only they don’t need to require the kids to wear masks!!
Why not remove it for the entire summer similar to Jackson??
Too funny- After being the most open school district the whole year, NOW they decide that we need to make ourselves crazy over covid.
And can Ms. Winters produce a science teacher that can explain the scientific need to wear a mask outdoors?
I am trying to understand this, but I can’t. So someone out there please help me out.
Covid B”H is basically gone.
Kids were never at high risk at all in the Covid pandemic.
Why make our precious children suffer????
I am asking for the religious and none religious children!!!
Does Covid-19 know when there’s “extreme heat” outside, and then doesn’t attack?
Hot or not, trying to teach with a mask on has been a struggle. Masks need to optional!
Who is defining extreme heat? Each buss driver having his own definition?
Is there an objective measure of “extreme heat” so that we can know in the morning whether or not our children will need masks on the bus or will the BOE be sending out robocalls daily?
