More help is on the way to the Lakewood School District – but this time in the form of aid, and not a loan.
In introducing the 2019-2020 school budget this evening, the Board of Education showed documents that reflect an additional $15,000,000 State Aid for the school year, for a total of $28,371,947 in State Aid.
As a result of the new Aid intended for the District, the District said they have no plans to request for additional funding for the year, but will ask that the State defer payments for last year’s loan.
Attorney Michael Inzelbuch during the meeting thanked the State for recognizing the uniqueness of the Lakewood School District.
The new budget will be sent to County Superintendent for review, and would need to be adopted by May 7.

Michael does it again!!!! Thanks so much
Will property taxes be lowered? Something tells me that, that will never happen.
this is great news. does this mean the state fixed the funding formula? that we have been waiting for for so long?
Will this help the bussing situation?
Kudos goes to Aaron Lang for fighting all these years to get the appropriate aid!!
