    • Dear Totty,

Think before you speak: you are playing with human lives – do you want that on your conscience?

This letter is authentic, i personally was involved beginning to end.

      Thank you,

      Aaron K.

      • Ok I’ll explain. TLS originally posted the link without the letter at all (see Moshe R’s comment above mine). I realized the mistake and commented, in a humorous way, to point that out to the editors. Of course I trust that this is an authentic letter. I trust TLS on that. Some of us are desperate for a little bit of humor amongst all the BDE texts r”l.
I’m sorry if anyone took me seriously.

    • The CDC also says to STAY HOME. Why are so many people trying to find a way around just doing the RIGHT THING? If people wont comply now, we will be doing this for a long, long time and maybe it wont be voluntary. Please just stay home!

    • This is NOT more restrictions than the CDC.
This is called “social distancing.” Everybody going to their parents/inlaws for yom tov breaks the social distancing and will cause the virus to spread faster and overwhelm our healthcare system.

  1. What about confirmed recovered patients? Can someone get a clear answer from an epidemiologist that did specific research into the subject, and put out an accredited letter?

    • This letter is signed by many senior medical professionals who obviously don;t see any exemptions for some1 that already had the virus more than 14 days ago. Reason probably is it’s not proven at all that it can’t be contracted a second time…

  2. There is no letter signed both by Poskim and doctors. There are two distinct letters here. The one signed by doctors unequivocally says to stay home. The Rabbonim clearly did not sign that one. They signed a diferent letter, saying that you should consult your physician – meaning that in the event your personal circumstance is unique, it is possible you should be going away – it is case by case.
Just to be clear. For the standard case of people who would like to spend time at their in-laws, the directive is clear – stay home.
