Lakewood Mayor Ray Coles has been voted in for Mayor for 2019, for the third time in a row.
Coles, a Democrat, tells he is honored to be chosen as Mayor again, and says in town such as Lakewood, it’s not uncommon to have the same Mayor serve for several years in a row.
Prior to Coles being chosen as Mayor two years ago, Committeeman Miller, a Republican, served for two years in a row. Miller served in 2018 as Deputy Mayor.

We wish them much hatzlocha! But please, no more business as usual. We need you to take some bold initiatives to solve the traffic problem. Open new roads even if it means buying out private land. A bridge, a tunnel, a train, whatever it takes to save our precious time from needless traffic. Be bold. Be courageous. Business as usual isn’t working for us.
Why don’t we directly vote for mayor?
It’s so nice to have the same members being voted in again and again and again. Perhaps it’s time for a change. We need new people on the board that can bring new ideas. Every election cycle we are implored to vote for the same people do to hakaras hatov. Dear township committee, please do us all a favor and don’t run again. That will do be the biggest favor you can do for the town. Does anyone agree with me?
please work for the people!
We need change. Not the same old this town needs new roads more lighting and the building to stop ASAP!
its time the tziburs voice is heard! we want change and we deserve change! people need to step up and voice their concerns
