BREAKING: Lakewood High School placed on brief lockdown after reported threat

The Lakewood High School went into lockdown this morning after a a reported threat to the school, officials told TLS. 

The lockdown went into place approximately 7:30 AM after a student allegedly heard another student talk about shooting up the school, officials said. The student repeated the information to a school counselor, who initiated the lockdown.

Police arrived and a search of the student’s locker was conducted, with negative results.

The student was taken into custody.

  1. Well if there’s a threat it only makes sense to go on lockdown. Doesn’t matter if it happens every other day. Better safe than sorry

  2. I am a mother of a young child that attends lakewood schools. Everyday she is required to walk thru metal detectors to enter school. I asked her if they go off when she walked thru because she had something in her backpack that should of set it off and she said yes. Did they search you?? NO was her answer. WHY NOT??????????
