dont we pay for electric, LIKE A VERY HIGH BILL.?? so get out there and fix the electric.now if they do the “not enough manpower” get out of jail card. well you know what use some of my money and hire some outside contractors.
or maybe i’ll start giving estimates when i will pay my electric bill.
Completely unacceptable and irreverent.
Unbelievable.
In some ways it feels like we’re living in Bangladesh.
3 days ??!!
Chutzpah !!
Well, without electric my bill next month will be lower
your right your next bill will be lower but did you even think about all the food you are losing. Did you think about all the people who have a medical need for a/c .
Ocean country had the 2nd most outages for Jcp&l
In Jackson they put on line close to 20000 Brick 30000 but lakewood that has only 15000 out the only put 11500 .? All resources ? Mayer please don’t buy it. I live in a big development no infrastructure issues . A dozen houses are out , they can come right down and be gone in 5 min max.
Mayer and Meir it time to fight for your town! I saw one group of trucks going down Rt9 and followed them they were on the way to Howell , no other other sightings of jcp&l besides in their yard. Did anyone see?
I don’t know why every storm the entire electric grid suffers major infrastructure damages. I think the electric company has to upgrade it’s power grid.
Every time the wind blows a little too strong, the power goes, and sometimes we are without power for no storm. We have loss of power way too often in our area.
This is unacceptable. The simple man can do nothing to help himself.
The people we elect and the money we pay, does nothing!
Is Lakewood a third world country?

Is Lakewood a third world country?
I feel like I’m back in China.
There hasn’t been a single jcpl truck seen in the Ridge area all day!
REMINDER-THERE IS A RIBONO SHEL OLEM WHO RUNS THE WORLD EVEN IN 2019 WITH ALL THE TECHNOLOGY
Let me remind you all of a simple fact in life.Till ACTION is taken nothing changes!!!Screaming, commenting, complaining, will get you no where!.Action may possibly help maybe ,like a mass call to complain after its fixed,no one paying bill on time, protest, call vaad ,insisting and pressuring elected officials to act more, and so forth. Until real action is taken issues don’t get solved old story! So Lkwd residents either act as you usually don’t ,or just accept it is what it is, like the traffic you allowed due to the infrastructure, insane building, and so forth. Its your choice.
I heard someone saying on the radio that NJ is the only state that doesnt use “Smart” meters and such which would greatly decrease these power outages during severe weather conditions. If this is true, it’s an outrage. Truthfully, even if it’s not true it’s an outrage. We are THE MOST congested state in the USA. We need better infrastructure to avoid these problems.
Period.
Time to go solar
That won’t help you.Solar requires mains power to operate and also goes out when main power goes out.
Howell residents on West Farm Rd, were told this afternoon that power will not be restored until Wednesday and was restored moments ago. Hopefully Lakewood is next!!
I’m out of power too,, and yes it’s a hassle. But the crews are working and working hard in the heat and rain. Jcpl is gonna lose not make $ over this. So just remember before you complain that the crews are going elsewhere, stop and realize someone else is without power too. No, you aren’t the most important person in ocean county. Those with medical needs may want to consider a generator. Good luck to all and hope we all have a light filled rest of week.
None of my neighbors use the Internet. We all reported our outages by phone. I just checked the JCPL map and it doesn’t show a single outage on my block. Meanwhile absolutely no one has power. Is JCPL paying attention to phone reports? Or is two-thirds of Lakewood being ignored right now?
I live 30 minutes from Lakewood and received the exact same Estimate for Restoration 7/26 by 11:30 PM.
If there is anyone who would like to offer room in their house to those who need, and if there is anyone looking for a place to stay until their power is restored text 8456643034 and I will try to help make connections.
Thank you Sari! Well said! For some reason most people on here think everything they need can happen at the push of a button and if it doesn’t happen right away, they will throw a tantrum like little children. Let’s be thankful for what we have and hope everyone stays safe thru this ordeal. On a side note, so much positivity came out. Someone rented a refrigerated truck for the public! Amazing! So good to see people lending a hand when in need. People let’s stay positive and be grateful!
@Begrateful just curious did u lose power???
Jcpl is down to 55,000 customers yet Lakewood hasn’t budged 1 customer in many hours. It has been at 3,885 for hours, while all nearby townships keep on dropping.
I think that some of our politicians have electric and aren’t doing enough to make them come here first.
#shame
As a parent of young kids, in the blackout with all of you, I understand how frustrating it is!! Just pointing out to people who have power tthat there’s a lot of chesed to be done! Families in the dark can all use a phone call and sometimes a warm meal or an invitation to move in or use your shower, fridge, laundry room etc. For those of us without power, it’s a great opportunity to show our children that we believe Hashem is running the world and that we are resilient! It’s an all around special time of Emuna and Chessed! Don’t miss it!!!
im wondering if the electric company was bought out recently by dpw , you know the dept. thats responsible for snowplowing…..
They totally ignored Lakewood for the past 3 days they used all the jcpl trucks based out of Hurley ave in Lakewood to go to the Brick and all the Beach towns to make sure all the Tourists have power at the expense of the local population in Lakewood where the outages on Ridge Ave were a few feet away where their trucks are parked it would have taken 2 hours worth of work on ridge ro turn on all the electricity
