Hatzolah of Central Jersey has been facing the largest and fastest growth any Hatzolah has ever faced.
“Our community is growing in numbers and spreading out over a greater geographical range than we could have imagined,” said Hatzolah’s Administrator Rabbi Motty Twerski. “This requires more and more resources to keep our community safe.”
Hatzolah of Central Jersey has been working to keep up with our community’s needs by adding on more members, purchasing more state-of-the-art ambulances and emergency response vehicles and ensuring the strategic location of resources, Rabbi Twerski said. “Hatzolah’s legendary response time is critical to our lifesaving work and is testament to our dedication to our safety,” Twerski said.
The first new building will be built on Oak Street near River Avenue. This new facility will feature a two-bay garage for ambulances and medic vehicles as well as important supplies, storage and night-watch rooms for members staying up all night to ensure they are ready to respond to our calls at a moment’s notice.
The second building to be built in the Cedarbridge and New Hampshire area will be Hatzolah’s flagship building and headquarters, featuring multiple vehicle bays, training rooms, meeting rooms, Hatzolah’s business offices and so much more.
The third building will be built on East County Line near Raintree. This new facility similar to the one on Oak Street will feature a two-bay garage for ambulances and medic vehicles as well as important supplies, storage and night-watch rooms for members.
“Obviously, Hatzolah cannot accomplish this on their own,” said Twerski. “Hatzolah needs the help of the community to enable Hatzolah to properly service us. In order to enable greater communal involvement, Hatzolah of Central Jersey welcomes Rabbi Moshe Barcan and Rabbi Yehuda Yosef Podolsky to our Development Team.”
Rabbi Barcan and Rabbi Podolsky will assist their esteemed longtime Director of Development Rabbi Avrohom Waxman to further the growth of Hatzolah of Central Jersey and expand its resources to keep up with the community’s exponential growth and increased demand for services.
Rabbi Moshe Barcan brings his years of experience in askanus and supporting various community organizations and causes to Hatzolah. Rabbi Barcan has been part of Hatzolah’s team on a part-time basis for years and is excited to dedicate more of his energy to the success of Hatzolah as Associate Director of Development.
Rabbi Yehuda Yosef Podolsky, the beloved director of Camp Machane Yehuda, is well known for his passion and success, qualities that he will bring with him as he also assumes the role of Associate Director of Development, in support of Hatzolah’s lifesaving work.
“Hatzolah of Central Jersey is very excited with this new infusion of energy which will no doubt take our organization’s critical work to new heights,” said Rabbi Moshe Hassan, member of Hatzolah’s Vaad.
“We look forward to working with our entire community to support the lifesaving mission of Hatzolah and its members, Rabbi Barcan and Rabbi Podolsky said. Our job is the easy one compared to what the members are called upon to do, and it’s a privilege to be part of such an organization.”
Note: Choice dedication opportunities are still available for Hatzolah’s new buildings. If you would like to partner with Hatzolah, please reach out to the Development team at 732.363.5600 or email [email protected].
I hope that they are never needed.

Yochy, their is a lot’s of red tape in place in other towns hatzlah memebers arent allowed to respond to call in their private cars in jackson or toms river so their is still a long way before a garage comes
HATZOLAH HAS A GARAGE IN TOMS RIVER RIGHT BY COX CRO AND RT 9 AND IN JACKSON THEY HAVE A AMBULANCE SITTING IN A DRIVEWAY ON PITNEY

@Yochi; Hatzolah has a garage that’s been in use for a couple years already in Toms River, off Cox Cro, which actually houses a brand new ambulance. In addition, they have an ambulance at Belz which borders TR, and helps cover TR as well.
Hatzolah also has 2 ambulances covering the 2 different sides of Jackson. One parked in Cooks Bridge area, and one in the County Line area just on the Lkwd/Jackson border.
