As first reported on our news alerts, Governor Murphy today announced he may be further tightening the social distancing guidelines – from 50 to 10-person gatherings, or no gatherings at all.
In addition, information we received indicates it’s possible the Governor could outright ban all non-essential travel, and place a lockdown on leaving the home for non-essential items.
Among the establishments that would remain open, are pharmacies, groceries, and medical clinics.
According to sources, the Governor is reportedly in the process of coordinating with the other governors in the tri-state area before announcing the ban.
Developing,
If people would have listened and followed the rules in the first place, and didn’t refuse to believe they apply to EVERYONE… maybe this drastic step wouldn’t have been necessary.
Your absolutely right!
People are listening!!! Unless there was total shutdown, you will find people in stores, all for essentials. Non essentials mostly shut their doors. Refuos and yeshua!!
How we going to buy food, medicine etc.
Those items are considered essential.
Marylemon – I don’t know if this is an anti Lakewood comment. But in case it is, then lets clarify that this is a problem across the United States. There are photos of the Miami beaches filled with college students who are not heeding what the government is saying. Additionally, social media is blowing up the FEW minorities who were not listening to the guidelines. The vast majority of this town has been following the guidelines as they’ve been coming out (as we all know that has varied from one day to the next).
@marylemon, my son was in shoprite in Howell on Friday and said it was packed! With no social distancing!! You won’t find that anywhere in the local.stores!!
