BREAKING: Fire Breaks Out in Multi-family Apartment Building in Lakewood, Displaces Families [VIDEOS & PHOTOS]

A fire ripped through an apartment building in Lakewood this afternoon.

The fire at the East Kennedy building broke out around 1:30 PM.

The fire has been upgraded to a Second Alarm as flames can be seen billowing from building.

The crews are having an issue with water due to frozen hydrants.

There are no reports of human injuries at this time, though officials tell TLS it appears several pets perished in the fire.

Approximately eight apartments were affected, officials tell TLS. Multiple families have been displaced.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.

  1. No we don’t. We have several trucks with 500 gallons, some 750. When you consider they are flowing 250 gallons per minute or more that doesn’t last very long. They depend on a water supply to fight a fire like this. It could take 10,000 or more.
