An explosion rocked the Rainbow Crossing at the US-Canada border this afternoon.
According to witnesses, a vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed as it approached the crossing, and exploding upon impact.
The vehicle reportedly contained explosives, leading officials to suspect an attack.
At least one person was injured, though it’s unclear if this location was the intended target.
All crossings have been shut as a precaution, and a federal investigation is underway.
If you are traveling to or from Canada, be sure to check for updates.
UPDATE: Officials now say no explosives were found, and it appears to be an accident.
The vehicle was reportedly a Bentley which went airborne when it struck a barrier at high speed, launching it into the booth. Both the husband and wife in the car have died.
