It’s official. Twitter, one of the most powerful social media platforms in the world, will soon belong to billionaire Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk.
The $44 billion offer by Musk was his “best and final” offer, made just days after he acquired 9.2% of the company.
Musk had announced if the purchase went through, he would take the company private. He also announced he would bring major changes to the company, including removing bots from the platform and identify humans.
“If our twitter bid succeeds, we will defeat the spam bots or die trying!” Musk wrote.
The platform, which banned Trump following the January 6 incident, is widely seen as a liberal platform, banning any account which questions the left – while allowing terrorists to freely tweet.
However, Musk says he hopes his critics remain on the platform.
“I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means,” Musk wrote today.
“A social media platform’s policies are good if the most extreme 10% on left and right are equally unhappy,” he said.
I hope he runs to be on the Board of Directors of Disney.
Hope he brings back free speech.
I hope he bans Hezbollah and the likes.
