A Lakewood Department of Public Works Employee was suspended after calling into a radio station during the storm – when he should have been working, an official told TLS.
The unidentified employee phoned in to a radio station and spoke about the job the township was doing with the snow removal. An investigation by officials showed the employee phoned in during work, sources told TLS.
Sources also told TLS the employee was suspended for walking away from a plow job.
The employee was suspended for approximately 60-90 days.
When receiving his suspension, the employee reportedly told officials that he had already found a job elsewhere.

suspended? why isn’t he fired?
Now all the problems will be solved…..
Time to figure out what the real issues are and then we can try to fix the problems.
Why don’t you name the person?
60 days? That’s the beginning of April, then he will be back to plow April/ May snow. Very clever…
He was quitting anyway it sounds like.
If he was talking on Bluetooth while driving, what is the problem
I’m confused, how is this any different from calling someone that isn’t from a radio station? If Bluetooth was used than it sounds like we are placing the blame on this one guy .. What happened with the so called major walkout/no show .Real sad if this is all we can come up with . I understand that this probably wasn’t the best thing this employee should of done but at least he was on the job and working .
it is illegal to fire someone for calling a radio , unless he has a prior reputation of not showing up to work.
but regardless ,what does have to do with the snow storm? if he wasn’t told to come in to work ?
