Police are trying to figure out how a vehicle rolled into the lake in Lakewood on Tuesday afternoon.
Witnesses at Lake Shenendoah say they heard a splash around 5 PM, and then saw a vehicle becomes submerged in the lake, but no driver was in sight.
Lakewood’s Water Rescue Team was activated, and upon arrival requested the Brick Diving Team.
The rescue team searched the vehicle and the immediate vicinity in the water, but turned up with negative results.
However, based on information police received from witnesses, as well as information from the company the vehicle was rented from, the dive team was called off, officials say.
It took crews approximately two hours to pull the vehicle from the lake.
The incident is under investigation.

Was someone in the car?
Is that true abt the cellphone? Was there some one in there? Y is it taking so long for them to find out who’s car it is! That’s very not experienced n professional.
Looks like Pennsylvania plates.
It was a rental car who cares what the plates are?
When I read this story , I was almost in tears. The poor lady that was trapped underwater in a car .
But hidden in the depths of the article , you can read the car was empty, I was so relieved .
Maybe the headline should’ve been
