BREAKING: Democrats To Begin Impeachment Proceedings Against President Trump l Shlomo Rudman

At a news conference this afternoon, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced that, under her direction, the House of Representatives will begin impeachment proceedings against President Donald J. Trump, a many Democrats have been clamoring for. Pelosi resisted pressure from some Democrats who favored impeachment following the release of the Mueller report regarding Russian interference in the 2016 election. But the recent revelations regarding a phone call Trump had with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, in which he pushed Ukraine to investigate leading Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, apparently caused Pelosi to agree with proponents of moving forward with impeachment. Pelosi said that she herself now supports impeaching the president, along with at least 170 other House Democrats. The Democrats currently have 235 party members in the House of Representatives.

Prior to Speaker Pelosi’s announcement, Trump tweeted that on Wednesday he would be releasing the declassified and unredacted transcript of his call with the Ukrainian president. Trump says the transcript will show that he did not pressure Zelensky into investigating Biden, and that “unlike Joe Biden and his son, NO quid pro quo!” The quid pro quo is referring to allegations that Trump held up aide to Ukraine to force Zelensky into investigating his political opponent.

If the House votes to impeach President Trump, the Senate will then take a vote to remove him from office. ¾ of Senators must vote in favor of removal from office for it to happen, an unlikely scenario considering that Republicans hold a 53-45 seat advantage over Democrats in the Senate.

The announcement by Pelosi marks the first time a US President will be considered for impeachment since 1998, when House Republicans voted to impeach Bill Clinton. In that case, not enough Senators voted for Clinton to be removed from office, and so he remained president. No president has ever been removed from office by way of impeachment.

  1. History repeats itself. Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it.
Those are two American proverbs that especially apply today.

Anyone here know what happened on August 9, 1974?
President Richard Nixon resigned, as the House was getting ready to impeach him.
History repeats itself. Trump will resign.
Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. If the American public is smart, they will not elect anyone like Trump again.

    • History repeats itself. You do remember that when the Republicans moved against Clinton to impeach him, they paid a heavy electoral price.

Fact is, the majority of the public is against impeaching him, aside for the extreme left of the Democrat party and the Never Trumpers.

  2. The only way to stop the Democrats is to vote Republican.
If they remove Trump the economy will go back to the great Obama years. Are you ready for 15% unemployment?
Are you ready for manufacturers moving out of the country.
Are you ready for the wealthy moving out before the new taxes on them.

  3. I doubt Trump will ever resign. He never gives in. Even when he’s black and white wrong. He’ll fight to the end. Which is a good thing. And I doubt he will be removed from office.

  4. Thanx Shmerel for showing ur true colors.

As stated in the article, the senate will never vote to remove him. This is just a massive waste of time and the Dems just handed Trump the 2020 election.
    Game, set, match.

  5. If US lawmakers will not investigate Biden’s corruption scandal in the same way they investigated the Russian collusion hoax, then perhaps Trump can convince Ukranian officials to look into the matter. The Clinton campaign and its allies used phony info from Kremlin officials to tar and feather Trump, similarly Trump can rely on legitimate info from Ukranian officials to investigate the Biden scandal. Ukranian officials, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the missing info. Heh.

  6. Just want to point out, the House needs to vote to authorize a formal Impeachment Investigation. That hasn’t happened, and even though the Dems have the majority of the House, they would have a hard time getting a majority of the House to approve.
