  1. Nebach, such a tragedy! We must daven for this unfortunate man’s refuah shleimah. It’s heartbreaking to hear about someone suffering like this, especially in such a vulnerable situation. As a tzibbur, we should reflect on how we can help those in need, whether it’s through tzedakah or chesed. May Hashem bring him healing and protection, and may we be zoche to only see good news.

    • It’s more common than apparently your narrow mind thinks.
It gives you a place to sleep and a place to keep your important stuff.

Not every homeless person is a drug addict who has no belongings and no job.
There are many people who have a job and through some series of events, no longer have a home.
Sometimes it’s the increase in rent, sometimes it’s wage garnishment and there’s many other causes.

So please try to be a drop less incredulous and judgmental and drop more kind hearted and understanding.

Yeah, it sounds strange at first, but then when you think about it again you realize that a ‘homeless person’ just means a person without a home rather than the vision that comes to mind.

Some people, if they can’t afford rent anymore, go and live outside of a home.. and their car doesn’t disappear so they go live in it while continuing on in what may be for instance a difficult low paying job, trying to pretend that nothing has changed and using their small income for gas and room temperature food (or cold food if they have a cooler that they keep filling up with ice).

Very unfortunately this incident probably means that this person lost their last form of a house and their last few possessions.

  2. Does anyone know if a chesed fund or campaign is being organized to assist this unfortunate person? While they may not be from the frum oilam, or even a Yid, they are still a human being in need, and it would be a tremendous kiddush Hashem if we could come together to help them during this difficult time. The mitzvah of chesed knows no bounds, and what a zechus it would be to show rachmanus and provide support. If anyone has information or is taking the initiative to organize something, please share so we can participate in this gevaldige opportunity.
