BREAKING: BOE Member Lee Mund Resigns; Second Member to Resign in Weeks

mund tlsBoard of Education member Lee Mund has resigned from the Board, officials confirm to TLS.

Mund, who was voted on to the Board in 2012, is the second Board member to resign in just weeks, and the third member to resign this year.

Board member Chaim Rosenblatt resigned at the end of last month, and Yoni Silver resigned earlier in the year.

Mund, a senior, resides half the year in Florida, a Board official said, citing the apparent reason for the resignation.

Silver’s seat was filled by Tracy Tift, and the Board will now seek to fill the two vacated seats.

The Board has 65 to fill each seat from the time it’s vacated, officials said.

  1. Who wants the position? How much can one do to fix the problems? Just Let the state monitor run it as he over rules anything he wants to….

  2. I wish people would realize that this is a serious commitment. This is becoming a joke. Know what you are getting into. Did this man not know he wasn’t here half of the time!? This is so unfair to all of the faculty and students both public and private in the district.

  3. WELL SAID!!!
Thank you LAC members for coming in, making a mess, and then leaving the citizens to figure out how to clean up.
IT IS NOT ABOUT OUR KIDS BUT ABOUT OUR TAXES?!?! What were we thinking to vote them in. If you are here to lower our taxes stay home. If you are here to give ALL children a fair education please fill this eat. We need you!!

  4. Thy all resigning because the stupid state monitor overrides them anyway so whats the point?! Just have the state monitor run the show. Then were all in troubke. Anti semite state monitor and chris christie.

  5. Why should anyone give of their time to run or work to figure out the issues if the State monitor can overturn and do WHATEVER he wants?????

What would it serve? let the whole board resign and the Monitor can just issue edicts and rules. That’s what happens anyway???

  6. They constantly resign because they are not accountable to the people. They only need to be m’chaneif with hot air and praise for their bosses and one another. Then they move from crisis to crises and place the blame on others.

  7. Nobody or nothing can save Lakewood and by the way don’t count on seeing Lakewood board of ed buses next school year because they can’t even run a small fleet!

  8. That’s right teacher. And the voters just follow the marching orders of the same bosses.

So there are no checks and balances. Just a faction doling out empty cheers and kudos while running a $160 million organization by committee without a real chief executive in charge. And needless to say, the BOE and the bosses then blame the members of the organization and the state when in reality the whole show is a comedy of errors.
