Authorities are investigating an armed home invasion in Lakewood today.
At around 12:00 PM, a man entered a Jewish home in the Park Avenue area and displayed a handgun.
A woman in the home saw the gun and screamed, sending all running. The suspect also fled the scene – without any proceeds.
“It’s a very strange incident,” a law enforcement official told TLS.
The suspect is described as a black male.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Lakewood Police Department.

@TLS while I do agree with your assessment to leave out the details of an active scene where police are already on scene, however I side with all the commenters requesting locations of past incidents where we can only be of help to the police AND where we can take further steps to protect our loved ones when we learn of a local incident.
Incident took place in the East End/Park Ave area around 11:30am-12:30pm on Saturday somewhere between Harvard St and East 8th St. Anyone who has video camera footage for this neighborhood is asked to contact the LPD as soon as possible.
