An investigation into a child luring incident is underway in Lakewood this evening, officials confirm to TLS.
The frightening incident began this afternoon, when a boy, approximately six years old, was riding his bike in the area of 7th Street and Lakewood Avenue.
Sources say a man – described as a Hispanic male – grabbed the boy’s shirt, and then coaxed him to go along with him.
The suspect then allegedly walked with the boy to the park on North Lake Drive, from where the suspect fled – possibly upon being noticed, an official told TLS.
The boy was reportedly missing for approximately a half hour before being reunited with his parents.
The incident comes after several attempted luring incidents over the past few weeks.
“Parents need to be vigilant and keep an eye on their children at all times,” the official said.
Lakewood’s Detective Bureau, CSI and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the incident.

There needs to be more cameras installed all around town.
What is the motive of the adductor? Kidnapping is from the worst crimes, both morally and legally. The jail time is enormous and they always get caught.
