I am excited to share with you a new enhancement to our popular Hadlokas Neiros service.

As you know, our weekly text reminders for the zman (time) of candle lighting have been serving thousands of people in over seven hundred zip codes (in the USA, Canada and Mexico).

In these challenging times, this service has not only been a practical aid, but also a means to elevate our collective observance of Shabbos.

At BP, innovation is in our DNA. We strive to make great services even greater! Therefore, it gives me great pleasure to announce a new feature designed to support those who wish to welcome Shabbos a bit earlier. Calculating the earlier lighting time can be a bit tricky, so our text service comes to the rescue.

Simply text “Plus 10” (or any time increment up to an hour), and your personal reminders will adjust to this new time for lighting candles. To revert to the standard zeman, just text “plus 0”.

It’s foolproof: When you receive your weekly reminder, it indicates the lighting time with a note on how many minutes before sunset (shekiah) this is – typically (18 minutes). With the new feature, if you choose “plus 10”, it will indicate (28 minutes), clearly showing your personalized lighting time.

Early feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we believe this first-of-its-kind feature will make your transition into Shabbos easier and more spiritually enriching.
