  1. Look ahead next year is real late R H Sept 30. Late late and into October. School should start the First Monday in September. All schools all Schedules. Hi thanks.

  2. I think it’s crazy that 2 weeks the boys were home and the girls in daycamp and now 2 wks the girls are home and the boys in school = 4 weeks The kids are home ! Crazy!

  3. Basically the boys and girls schedules need to be more coordinated in this town as well as with the tri state area. We send our kids to camps that don’t just cater to Lakewood families.

  4. Enough is enough! It’s out of control what is going on in this town! I learn in yeshiva and my wife works and this is a nightmare for us! The schools needs to get more in sync with the yeshiva schedule! This is supposed to be a town built around the yeshiva! Every day is a headache of what to do with the kids today… pay thru my nose for more camp and then I can’t afford to pay Tution or stay home from yeshiva for the entire Elul Zman…or maybe beg someone for a favor to watch my kids…I can’t do it anymore! It’s got to stop!!

  5. To Joek
I’m a Rebbi in Lakewood for many years. My fellow Rabbeim will never agree to begin on Rosh Chodeh Elul look this is USA like it or not our Schools usually begin on Labor Day This year we are Starting 10 days earlier!! Lakewood Cheder is the best to their Rabbeim as they begin Next week Monday!! Please don’t push for more than that!! l

  6. Aside from anything, these boys are adorable and I wish them the best this year. Please drive SLOW around school buses. I drive like a snail around kids, buses, etc. I know I drive cars crazy; however, better safe than sorry. Have a great year! Hard to believe how fast the summer went.

  7. Simple solution: all camps should start first Monday of July and schools should start first Monday of September. We need to adjust to the American reality. By going with Rosh Chodesh Elul are we really gaining more Torah?! Or losing…. this way the summer would be eight weeks instead of eleven and everyone has an option to have kids out… you can opt out of camp if you really want to….

  8. The reason the boys ended so early is because all the counselors went back to high school and Bais Medrash. You won’t change the older yeshiva sched and there we’re no more counselors to watch your kids in camp. The elementary schools can’t start Rosh Chodesh Elul. That’s just nuts!!
