Boro Park -Tantzers Family Center- Spent Shabbos of Joy and Togetherness in Lakewood

The Tantzers organization has been a beacon of light and a force of joy in the lives of chronically ill patients and their families. The Tantzers Family Center is a safe haven from so much trauma that they endure every day, a place where they come to relax and enjoy in the afterschool hours… away from the turmoil that so often permeates their lives.

But this past weekend, The Tantzers kicked it up a notch with an entire weekend at the Lakewood home of their patron, renowned baal tzeddakah-Meir Fischl.

From the moment they departed Brooklyn, every minute was jam-packed with stimulating, wholesome fun, and spiritually heightened experiences.

The Thursday night visit to “Bounce” really got the boys jumping into the mood… followed by supper and kumzitz.

A typical expression of Klal Yisroel’s unity, seeking to help each other in every possible way, was the late-night visit to arcade room at Misameach—The Lakewood Organization that is very similar to what Tantzers does in Brooklyn.

The boys were privileged to visit the Skulener Rebbe, and give over the names of their loved ones in need of a yeshuah. An incredibly intimate and moving experience in which they were able to unburden their hearts and walk away with chizuk and hope.

Every moment of Shabbos, the divrei Torah, the singing, the uplifted tefillos, parties and fun was spiritually charged. Following a gala melave malka which included live music, at which each child walked out with a bag of valuable prizes. The boys were ready to return home to their waiting parents who were also afforded a weekend in which they could recharge.

The Shabbaton was chaperoned by 12 volunteers, mentors who doted on the boys every moment, ensuring that this would be an inclusive and healing, as well as an extremely enjoyable experience. Another project by the dedicated volunteers at Tantzers who will stop at nothing to bring healing and relief to families of the chronically ill.
