BOE To Remove 15 Routes From Negba Bus Service

negbaJUST IN: [Video will be posted later] This evening, the Board of Education voted for the removal of 15 routes from the Negba bus company, after receiving multiple complaints from residents. The meeting, which drew a large crowd – many of which came to complain about the bus service – concluded a short time ago.

All of the board voted to remove the contracts, except for Abe Ostreicher who voted against it.

Another 3 of 33 items on the list were approved. The rest were not voted on because several board members walked out. TLS.

  1. first it’s the snow, then it’s the 90 minute delays ordered by the watch commander, then the superintendent, people wake up. Get real

  2. it appears many people who” put me in office” are annoyed that I did not vote for the 36 motions being presented. To set the records straight I do support all the motions fully. As for questioning added security at the public schools you should be ashamed of yourselves. The board make-up at 11:30 was five individuals with Mrs. Miccio as the acting president. I would hope to imagine you would like to have all motions passed properly. Maybe not

  3. A new cycle of Shimeras HaLashon just began. Why isn’t someone concerned that the lashon hora caused a financial loss to the owner of Negba?

  4. Today,my daughter’s bus was once again not to be seen! Every time you call the office there’s another story. They should be run out of Lakewood.

  5. Excuse me #11, but I work for one of the companies you mentioned but NOT all of us run late, I am on time every day for every run, NONE of the parents complain about my performance as a driver in fact they tell me they can set their clock by me because I am ALWAYS on time. So don’t start bashing the driver’s or grouping us as a whole. Thank you

  6. Today my bus from this company came 45 minutes late and after trying to reach them for half an hour they blamed it in the FUNERAL!!!!!!!at 845 in the morning!!!

  7. To number nineteen, it’s so nice you are furious. It’s a miracle your bus came at all today. The entire Lakewood is gridlocked because of the funeral. The was traffic at seven in the morning. It is impossible for the buses to be on time today.

  8. Our Negba bus usually comes after we have already driven kids to School or just does not come at all. Great savings for Negba’s gas and wear and tear!

  9. #19 – you ahve to be kidding me. Do you care a Lakewood policemen was killed. Did you speak to your Rav to see if you can speak freely.
you should be ashamed of yourself.

  10. I know when the funeral was I was there it started at 11:00 and I stood on Monmouth ave.MOST other companies still managed to show up on time today

  11. For the last few years, my son has had different bus companies and I waited for him to have Negba – I’ve had difficult experiences dealing with other companies.

My son’s Negba bus comes almost consistently at the same time every morning. I am very pleased and thank his bus driver for taking my child to school each morning.

  12. TO 23-the funeral proccession was at 11:00. At 8 this morning, Mais Street, Rte 9 and Clifton were all closed. All the alternate routes (MLK, Pine St, Cedarbridge, Clover etc.) were backed up for blocks. No way school busses could be on time today.

  13. I have children using 3 bus companies .i am happy with all of them including Negba. Just for the record Negba was on time today (as everyday) AND ANOTHER COMPANY WAS 22 MINUTES LATE.

  14. My husband is a bus driver. He tries very hard to be on time and has had no complaints. Many issues are beyond the driver’s control. This morning he was caught in traffic from the funeral even though it had not yet started. It was unavoidable because he had to come from Freehold to Lakewood to pick up the kids that need to get to school. He dropped his kids off late and then had great difficulty getting his bus back out of Lakewood because of traffic.

  15. Negba doesn’t have enough buses to physically honor their contract. I don’t think it is personal, and the problem doesn’t have anything to do with the drivers. For many routes, they come 45 minutes late since they are waiting for the buses to return from their first run.

  16. This company bid for too many routes than they can handle and alot are in Freehold as well thats why the busses are rushing back every morning. The bottom line is they cant phisically possible service 20% of the routes they have in Lakewood

  17. My daughter came off the bus in tears today, because the driver was asking 5 year olds directions to their house and she was nervous she gave the wrong directions. If the company doesn’t have a responsible driver, better to not send anyone then put our precious children in danger!

  18. The problem is there is not enough eguipment for negba to handel all the routes also the streets in lakewood are always filled with cars that are just left anywhere on the street people wake up ! and learn to drive . some dont even have liscences to drive .

  19. Negba owns 98 busses ,more then 10 more needed to honor all their contrascts. the problem is about 20 out of service ,not becouse they failed inspections. They were due to have inspections the last 2 weeks of Dec. Due to the blizzard 4 inspectin days were canceeled. They are being made up only on Fridays .Today 10 more busses were put back in service. They did more then their best under the circumstanses . Thanks and Hatlocha.

  20. If Inspections were delayed due to weather, and couldnt be inspected for the first inspection, then why werent they on the road ? Because they WERE PUT OUT OF SERVICE BY THE STATE,Therefore the reinspections could not be done because of the bad weather!!!!
