  1. Amazing how Lakewood continues to not be impacted by the Icey streets and winter weather! ALL other surrounding districts have a delay yet Lakewood continues to run on regular schedule! As parents it’s “our choice” wether or not to send our children on the bus in these conditions or risk driving on the ice ourselves! Lets see what tomorrow brings. Lakewood think you have something to prove? You are only proving how selfish you are by NOT putting the safety of others first!

  2. Why is everyone always complaining! If they opened late you’d be screaming that there is no need for that. Let’s just stop second guessing and trust the boe and police to make the safe decision.

  3. you can’t please everyone
so whatever decision is made is going to be no good
if you feel its not safe for your child to go on bus then bring them to school yourself.

  4. To me says,

Yes you cannot ease everyone. But here is the truth, when every other district closes or has a delayed opening except Lakewood. Then many Lakewood teachers, who live outside of Lakewood take the day off, either to be with their kids, or to not risk their lives driving.
So what happens is babysitting. On Monday there were not nearly enough subs for all the teachers who called out. So specials teachers had to have their classes canceled to cover for teachers that were out.
Bottom line is very little education took place Monday, and instead of making up that day now it is a lost day of instruction.

  5. I want to know what is going to happen tomorrow when we have the ice storm predicted for overnight. Supposed to start around midnight and be very bad in the morning. Are you going to complain again if the kids are off of school or perhaps have delayed opening.
