boe building meetingIn an emergency meeting this evening, the Board Of Education rescinded their firing of a tenured Public School teacher who acted inappropriately, and instead placed the teacher on paid leave. The teacher, who was fired last week, was caught acting inappropriately during school session and was not allowed back since.

  1. why is tax payers money going to pay someone for acting inappropriately? This will only encourage more people to do the wrong thing. The BOE needs to stand up to the union! no other worker in any other field would get away with this kind of behavior in the private sector. The public sector should be stricter-it’s our money!

  2. O so what took the boe members a week to realize that the attorney was right? We pay him a salary of a lot of money for his advice and guidance let’s just all work together and respect each other for what we believe in, we have our difference some are there to help the kids and some for self interests, we have some dedicated boe members, a new “gus the bus”, one of the best attorneys in his field of work and a decent superintendent let’s put our difference aside n move forward.

  3. I believe legally the teacher has to be put on paid leave until they can investigate, then there’s a process for unpaid leave before they can fire them. Paid leave is better than firing and opening the town up to a lawsuit which could cost more in the long run. Glad they are following the procedures now. (and no, I’m not a teacher or gov employee)

  4. they finally realized that this was the appropriate way to handle this , the attorney was right . How can you expect others to follow rules when you yourself do not

  5. It seems poshut that hagam the new chevra on the BOE mean well, they’re like a bull in a china shop. They are 100% gerecht about getting rid of the bureaucracy and kenunyos that cost the tzibbur money, and bringing the sensibility of the hamoin am to the BOE.

Me’idach gissa, they have to learn to tread a little more lightly around the status quo. L’mashal, with Tiny Tots, instead of trying to have the whole thing just explode overnight, leaving the playgrounds that the BOE paid for worthless, and leaving hundreds of families with no day care, they should have slowly phased it out.

On this story also – they want to be sensible and send this guy flying. The velt is in gantzen maskim 100%. But you can’t just ignore the mussag that this is not the way the BOE is used to operating.

When they get more experienced, they’ll zicher figure these things out, and we’ll be better off in the long run.

  6. If the teacher acted anyway inappropriately have the Lakewood Police Department or Ocean County prosecutor’s office been contacted to investigate? With the Board of Education like this it’s a wonder why your school are failing and you have the level of crime and corruption that exists in Lakewood.

  7. It is at times like these when we must remember what the unions have done to this great country and state. Their outrageous demands have caused that this idiotic tenure rule prohibits a teacher from being fired when acting appropriately.

Every other employee in the country loses their job in a jiffy when they don’t play by the rules. Only teachers have this “tunure”, so that they could have their jobs for life no matter what they do.

    Your local unions at work……..

The only thing we the sheeple can do about that, is to constantly vote in rock-solid conservative republicans who will stand up to these unions. Governor Christie was a great start, but we must continue on all levels of government.

  8. we still do not know what he was charged with , I find this a problem as he should be able to defend himself by his accusors of any improper behavior and other statements that are being made against him ,why the secrecy ? If in fact his suspension was justified and removal ultimately a result of improper behavior it should be made known what he is accused of doing so we he get the whole story
