Also at today’s BOE meeting, the new slate of Board Members – initiated by BOE member Carl Fink – made a very unusual announcement. After one Board member tore apart the agenda piece by piece – to the slight embarrassment of the Administrators – the Superintendent announced that she will be working over the next few months to produce a budget that will reflect the will of the voters and the taxpayers.
To have this accomplished, a new position has been formed in the Business office to carry out this mission. On top of that, a motion was made to have the budget reflect a 10% decrease in the tax levy.
The motion also said, that if such a budget was not presented, a forensic audit will be ordered.
The motion failed, but the point was made.
A thorough review of the budget, in it’s entirety will be conducted over the next 3 months. This will mean reviewing all areas including those that affect both the public and non-public sectors of the community. TLS-CCP
Why are Lakewood politicians so afraid of a forensic audit?
thats what we want to see!!!!!
then it should be done
so to reduce the budget they add a new position?
Never will happen. Explain how Lakewood spends $13,632 a student K-12 and an average teachers salary is $ 57,597 a year and then you look at the ridiculous taxes we pay and kids can’t even pass a simple test let alone graduate High School. The audit would show its all in salaries and busing. How much goes to the private schools? How much goes to the public schools?
i was there this morning and hes really trying to fight the “other” boe members who just want to spend spend spend keep up the good work!
Carl Fink is the man .
all boe members listen to Carl he older and weiser.
i hope carl can get the budget in shape.
THINK ABOUT THIS; a teacher starting out after 9 years makes 47,000, then if they have othr positions, then add another 4,000.
NOT BAD AFTER WORKING
Why didn’t this happen all the past years?????
how come steve and menashe and meir the meir can’t do that with thew township budget
what are they doing for us?
how come every body loves them? 50 percent of lakewood taxes just went up another 1000+
Why cant these guys be on township committee
The answer to all the questions is very simple. The town as a whole must demand a forensic audit for the School Board and the Township.
I have no problem with cutting the budget 10% as long as it is equally divided among the public and private schools.
