The incident of the overriding of the Catapult contracts with the Lakewood District headed to court today in Trenton.
Representatives from the Board of Education, local Mosdos and attorneys went in front of a judge today for an emergency injunction to re-award the Catapult contracts which State Monitor Michal Azzara overrode last month, despite the Board of Education’s approval of the contracts.
Attorneys for Catapult and others representing the special services provider said Azzara overstepped his legal boundaries when he overrode the awarding of the contracts, and that he was only there to oversee fiscal and personnel issues, not legal issues.
The judge is expected within the next 24 hours to decide if an injunction will be issued – implementing a temporary contract – until a final ruling is given.

We should daven for only a good out come.
thank you so much!! we know it takes a lot of courage to do this we the teachers, parents and children are all behind you!!
This situation is very serious. I personally have a son in a self contained class and he is dependent on Mrs. Schlesinger’s program to function in yeshiva. For the past 6 years he has blossomed and made significant progress as a result of the catapult teachers and supervisors. At the current time, his English program is inconsistent and unpredictable and he is therefore regressing in his English subject material. I hope that catapult will get approval to service our children immediately.
This effects hundreds of kids who need to be in a self contained class and the jobs of dozens from the community …
How about just accept the state monitors decision? Maybe the private schools need to be put in their place
