UPDATED: The Board of Education will offer extended hours over the next two weeks to accommodate any issues parents may experience during the beginning of the school year, Transportation Committee Isaac Zlatkin tells TLS.
Additionally, Zlatkin says, “The Transportation Department has designated additional space in their building so parents can sit comfortably while waiting to be assisted and also have the privacy when talking to transportation staff about their issues. In the past, the lines were extended far out of the transportation offices and people were standing on the stairs.”
Zlatkin also noted, that changes to any bus routes or new bus passes the are processed before this Monday, September 3rd will only go into effect on Monday, September 10th. Those that are processed after Labor
day will go into effect on Wednesday, September 19th. Zlatkin explains that the changes to routes don’t go in effect right away to give an opportunity to the bus drivers to get familiar with their routes without constant changes.
This Sunday, September 2, the BOE will be open from 8 AM-3 PM, and for the next two weeks, the BOE will be open until 6 PM.
BOE President Carl Fink asks that parents bring their children out to the bus early, and to be patient as the bus drivers break into the new routes.
Once again, the new reformed BOE under Carl Fink and Chezky Zeitler working hard to make things better for ALL the childrena and parents in Lakewood.
And once again, I question why you guys aren’t being more forceful in showing voters how you’ve changed the BOE from the chaos that it was before.
You guys are doing an amazing job, but you need to explain it to voters, so that they aren’t emotionally abused by those who want the old days back and therefore lie about your record.
thank you.
Are these special hours for public school children as well as private school children?
#3, are you kidding me or what. It’s for all children.
