The body of a local US Marine will be escorted thorough Howell today as he is brought back home.

US Marine Cpl. Dan Baldassare, 20, of Colts Neck, died when his military plane went down in Mississippi on July 10, killing all 16 service members on board.

Coming from the Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, the escort is expected to pass through Howell between 11:30 AM and Noon. The motorcade will go from Interstate 195 to Rt 9 NB. Howell Police will be part of the escort and will be shutting down all intersections as the motorcade passes through Howell.

“Please do not park on I195,” says the Howell Police Department. “It’s recommended you observe from parking lots along Rt9 from I195 and the Freehold border.”

The body will be brought to a funeral home in Freehold.
