Body of Lakewood Man Found in Water in Toms River

Authorities are investigating after the body of a Lakewood man was found floating in water in Toms River.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on April 25, Officers from the Toms River Township Police Department were dispatched to an area behind Point O’ Woods Drive for a report of a body floating in the water.

Responding Officers located a deceased male, later identified as Julian Lopez-Martinez, 45, of Lakewood, and proceeded to remove his body from the water.

A post-mortem examination conducted by the Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office observed no signs of trauma to the body.

“The cause of death is pending toxicology results. The death of Mr. Lopez-Martinez does not appear to be suspicious at this time,” Prosecutor Billhimer stated.
