The Lakewood Board of Fire Commissioners sold two older fire trucks, and brining in about $60,000 more than a previous offer.
Fire Commissioner Mizrachi tells TLS they had an offer last year for the two older trucks for approximately $80,000 for the pair, but through negotiations managed to bring in another $60,000 for a total of $140,000 for the trucks.
The trucks were approximately from 2003 and 2005, and have since been replaced with more efficient ones, Mizrachi says.
The money from the sale will help offset next year’s budget, or for future equipment and apparatus purchases.
