Bnos Bais Yaakov High School Goes Solar

bais_yaakov_arosa_solar_picPHOTOS & VIDEO: Bnos Bais Yaakov has gone solar. The 25,000 square foot girls high school building – located on Oberlin Avenue – is currently in the midst of installing a massive solar system on their roof, which is expected to save the school approximately $35,000 annually.

Arosa Solar is excited about this installation” says Shimmy Tessler, speaking on behalf of the company. “The installation is replacing a huge amount of the energy for which Bnos Bais Yaakov depended on and paid the utility company” he says.

The school will be reaping the full benefits of the electricity produced by the system, and the investor will begin earning money in three years from the system, which they were able to purchase with Government incentives.

Other schools in town are looking to switch to solar energy as well.

“We are in middle of negotiating with other Mosdos in town to help them with their energy bills, and are anticipating many more to come forward and request the same for themselves”, says Tessler.

Israel Berkowitz of Berkowatts Electric, (pictured in contractor’s hat), has been hired by Arosa Solar as their in-house installer.

The Bnos Bais Yaakov installation is expected to take a total of three weeks.

What happens if there is a leak in the roof?
It’s gotta cost a huge amount to remove the solar panel and put it back which might offset the savings of solar.

Also, do they make a birchas hachama when it is installed?

Finally, please don’t put up a dud shemesh!! That is painful.

Signed, A basement yid who misses the sun stam azaoi.

roofs last about 25 years—$ 875,000—it only cost about 30,000 to remove panals and replace roof—think about it

why dont they build buildings with sun roofs that would save tens of thousands of dollars in lighting costs plus it would be beutiful and refreshing to have natural sunlight light up the interior
