BMG Adding Fingerprint Entry To All Its Dormitories

In an effort to maximize security across its campuses, Bais Medrash Govoha will be adding fingerprint entry to all its dormitories.

The dormitories currently have combination locks on them, but the fingerprint locks will be added to enhance the security system the yeshiva has in place, which already includes armed security and other, covert security measures. The new locks will be phased in one dormitory one at a time, with all of them expected to be outfitted with fingerprint locks over the course of several months.

While the installation of the fingerprint locks have not yet begun, BMG has started collecting the fingerprints of its bochurim, so that they can enter the dormitories when the system becomes operational.

  1. This new security feature won’t work for Shabbos so not sure what the cheshbon is to go with a feature that cannot be used every day… Go fi(n)ger!

  2. It’s a great idea; this way, if someone enters the building via fingerprint entry, and then pulls off a robbery, they can check the fingerprint entry gadget for fingerprints and then use the fingerprints to nail the thief.
