This list is many years old, I know for sure that at least one of the listings has not had a tree for several years at this point, and they have no idea how to get their address off the list.
L’chatchila the brocha should be made in Nisan. If trees are still blooming without fruit, the Brocha may be made in Iyar. In Australia and other countries in the southern hemisphere, whenever fruit trees bloom. 3 fruit trees are still in bloom at 1140 forest avenue, Lakewood. Good Chodesh and good Shabbos
MB 226/4 says if Bracha was not made in Nissan it can still me made even after fruit appears as long as the fruit did not Finish growing.
There are no fruit trees at that address on Ardenwood Ave
1) there was a year that I forgot to say in Nissan, and I asked a Rabbi on Beis Iyar, and he opened a Gemara to the sugya in Brachos, and told me to read out the sugya (iirc it started amar Rava and just went straight through the Bracha) and say the Bracha therein with Shem uMalchus.
2) anybody who is still looking for a tree in Lakewood, there is a crabapple tree turned on its side neat the tracks between 2nd and 4th that is flowering.
For all those who say that it’s lekatchila to say the bracha in Nissan, the MB (in 226:4) says “Vehu hadin Bechodesh Acher if you see it bloom for the first time.”
The Dirshu MB brings R’Chaim Kanievsky Zatzal that the lashon of the Gemara of yimei nisan means Tekufas nissan, not chodesh nissan.
The bracha, I believe is written incorrectly (here and on some signs around town). It should be elanos tovim ( and not elanos tovos)
