A bill that would allow school districts to sell ads on the sides of school buses passed the Senate Education Committee Monday. Advertisements on the both the exterior and interior of buses are currently prohibited by law, but advocates for the bill believe allowing ads will help districts facing tough financial times.
“With other states generating as much as $1,000 per bus, this bill is designed to increase revenue for school districts to provide needed services,” said Assemblywoman Connie Wagner, D-Bergen, one of the sponsors of the bill. “With schools everywhere at a loss for state aid, and cuts being felt as classes get under way again, this is an easy way for schools to generate additional revenue to help keep programs running and activity fees to a minimum.”
Several provisions governing the sale of ads are included in the bill: Full story in APP.
Believe me that money will get so diluted that I bet the school district will see 5% if any.
Must the advertisements be Kosher?
