Bikur Cholim: Many Sent to Doctors following Community Health Screening

screening 2015 1PHOTOS: Many people coming out to Sunday’s community health screening in Lakewood were sent to doctors following the testings, Bikur Cholim.

Hundreds of people came out for the health screening event, which was held at Chemed in conjunction with Bikur Cholim, and Hatzolah.

Attendees were tested for blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, glucose, cholesterol and more.

“Three people were found to be diabetic, and ‎tens were found to have high blood pressure, some extremely high,” a Bikur Cholim coordinator told TLS.

“None knew of their condition before coming,” the coordinator said.

  1. AG And HH the 2 volunteers in the pictures are major askanim they do a lot of chesed for the members of the lakewood and deal communities. Way to go keep up the great work.

  2. I volunteered a few yrs ago at this screening. At the blood pressure station. I probably had to sell 30 ppl that their BP was way to high & they should goto a Dr. 2 ppl I sent to the dr right there, on the spot. Its true, our adults dont play sports. Aside from that, some of our heiligeh Shabbos foods were OK in 1750, when it was the whole seudah, but not today when it is just one of 3 courses !!!

  4. A big Yasher Koiach to all the volunteers for giving of their time for such an important event. CHEMED and their staff are always looking for ways to help the community and educate them on health related issues. Kudos and keep up your great work.
