As we approach the Yomim Tovim and the start of a new year, Lev Rochel Bikur Cholim of Lakewood would like to remind you about those who are less fortunate than us, hospital bound or home bound and in need of help. While we will be enjoying Yom Tov with family and friends, many will be spending Yom Tov in nearby hospitals. While coping with illness is in itself overwhelming, a hospital stay without medical guidance, proper nourishment or visitors can be devastating. Families of patients need a place to stay and some encouraging words, in order to cope.
This is where Bikur Cholim of Lakewood steps in.
Bikur Cholim of Lakewood is a nonprofit organization which is dedicated to helping patients and their families. When illness strikes and families feel they have nowhere to turn, Bikur Cholim helps by providing a full array of services. Some of the many services they provide includes nourishing meals, medical advice and chizuk to aid in their recovery. Their patient advocates are there from the moment a patient arrives until they are discharged from the hospital, ensuring that they get the best available medical care they so desperately need. They provide accommodations for families in their Bikur Cholim house with all the amenities of home; including hot meals, Seforim, Yom Tov supplies and more. When a patient is discharged, they provide handicapped van rides, medical equipment and hot meals while they recuperate. They don’t just visit the sick, they ensure that all their needs are taken care of.
They strive to continue helping all those in need, but the costs of their operations are staggering. Please help them make a difference in the lives of people who are in a very difficult situation.
