Sara Schenirer and the Katz School of Science and Health at Yeshiva University are excited to announce the launch of their new Occupational Therapy Doctorate program starting in 2024. This 115-credit program is the first fully accredited entry-level OT doctoral program in the New York area, allowing students to earn their doctoral degree with just a bachelor’s degree and required prerequisites.
What sets this program apart is the unique curriculum that trains students to provide holistic services through a combination of theory, research, and clinical skills. Students can start at the undergraduate level, taking the Sara Schenirer BA in Psychology with embedded OT prerequisites, saving students time and money.
This program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and graduates are eligible to sit for the national certification examination to become an occupational therapist by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
The field of occupational therapy is growing rapidly and offers a wide range of opportunities, including working in clinics, out-patient facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, wellness centers, mental health clinics, and more. Especially for frum women, occupational therapy is a fulfilling and supportive profession that aligns well with traditional values and lifestyle.
