Checking the fine print of a contract is something many Lakewood residents are learning to do – the hard way.
Residents of several developments in Lakewood tell TLS they were approached last week by a pushy salesman making his way around on a Segway, trying to sell them a home service.
While some became suspicious of his sales tactics, multiple residents signed a contract with him, only to find out a short time later they were locked in to a longterm service they hadn’t expected.
According to Google reviews of the particular company, there were over 200 complaints about the company in the last 12 months, many sharing similar experiences, and subsequently trying to cancel a contract.
TLS is reminding residents to carefully review contracts which sound too good to be true, and do research about a company before signing up with them – it could save you a lot of future headaches.
If a company is scamming locals, why is the company name not in this article?
Pease tell u what company, litoeles so we do’t sign up with them.
It would be helpful to publish the name of the company, that way we know who employs such unethical practices. Not mentioning the name doesn’t really help much.
If they are selling exterminating service…big time scammers. They promoted themselves as exclusively using non-toxic chemicals in their treatments. When the technician showed up the following week, we asked what was being used, and he said “Oh of course its all chemicals, otherwise we would charge you more”. The salesman are very savvy and trained. We were able to cancel but with total nerve they showed up again this year at my door trying to do the same shtick.
GREENIX
Don’t buy anything from any company
Yelp on Greenix says their pushy salespeople go around on Segways. Sounds like a scary company indeed.
YES I had one of these Greenix Reps knocking at my door last year, almost had me sign a contract on his mobile tablet giving him all my personal info and it struck me the wrong way so luckily I didn’t! They are super pushy and get you to sign things you don’t realize you are committing to.
Why couldn’t residents just push back the pushy salesman by replying I/we’re not interested.
