TLS has received messages from many readers who say they’ve received a text from what appears to be someone from their contacts, but it is in fact a scam.
The text prompts users to download an app, which is apparently a phishing app that can steal your information and photos.
As usual, never click on a link you are unsure about.

Recently I kept getting a text that said I will receive a check In a few days if I click on the link . The text included my name so beware
Last week I got a text saying I have an alert from Amex Serve with a link. I opened the link and it was an extremely realistic looking copy of Amex’s real site. I called Amex and they told me I have no alerts and they NEVER send texts. BEWARE ! The number of the sender of the text is 844 900 0802.
Got same exact text! For a week straight
Got also weird text from a Jewish sounding name that I didn’t recognize with a interesting link
i also got the same text as in your picture. i did download the everalbum app. the app is working. meanwhile, i uninstalled it. Question: How do i know if it did anything to my phone? what should i do?
I received this text too. Does that mean that someone is monitoring my phone? Does anyone know what to do to “disconnect” this scam?
How do I remove this if I mistakenly installed it?
on 8.12.2016 I received text from 385.245.2095 : Larry Mcfarland recommends you check out your photos on Everalbum. Click here: ..9there is a link which takes to the page for apple App store: or android store depends on your phone..”
