BEWARE: 4th And Lex Is Now A Four Way

four way 4th x lexVIDEO & PHOTOS of PD and Public Works enforcing the new 4 way Stop Sign installed at 4th and Lexington this morning. Many drivers blew right through the new stop sign and did not realize they did so, until they were made aware by police. Electric signs have also been placed on Fourth Street approximately half a block before the intersection. Township Engineer Todd Day-(seen in photos) asked TLS to help spread the awareness to the Lakewood residents. Please use extreme caution when approaching and driving through the intersection. 1. I drove through it today. Seems like people need to be reminded how to go through a four way stop sign. The driver to the right has the right away. Everyone takes a turn, no accidents necessary…

  2. I think they need a longer vertical red strip on the new Stop sign heading east on 4th street. I literally didn’t notice it and went right through without stopping today. It’s a good thing there were no other cars in the immediate area so a traffic accident didn’t occur..

  3. Why was only Sgt Work out there with the guys from public works???? Seems like it wasn’t well planned out……maybe there should have been some crossing guards as well………

  4. Whether you are “used” to a specific area being a “certain” way, is in NO way an excuse for going through a Stop sign.

When you have a drivers license, YOU as the driver, has the Responsibility to be aware of all applicable happenings on the road around you.

Those who do not stop at the Stop signs are showing a lack of cautiousness and awareness.

Please, when driving, pay attention, and be careful. This can be the difference between life and death.

Yes people have to be reminded how to use a 4 way stop! First car to arrive has right of way. If two cars arrive at the same time, the person to the right has the “right-of-way”

  6. It’s a dangerous corner. One factor I noticed yesterday – delivery trucks often park in front of the grocery & seriously block drivers from seeing other cars. Any chance the police would put a stop to that? Should I waste my breath calling them or will they say it’s racial profiling? What does Herschel Hershkowitz think?

  7. Yeshivah man,
What type of person are you to post the Name of a fellow Jew on a public website. So you raise the audio on your “chashiva” computer, playing over and over again to make out what an individual allegedly said. I sure hope you are this “careful” the way you treat other people, when you drive a car, the amount of kavanah you have while davening, or when you say loshon harah for all the world to see.
