URGENT: This coming Thursday, November 26, Chai Lifeline will be holding a Bone marrow Drive for men and women at the Esther Gerber Hall (6th and Madison) from 9:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. in an effort to find a match for two desperate patients, for whom time is running out. A simple test will determine if you are a match. Viable genetic matches will probably be found among those of Eastern European Jewish descent. Due to genetics, it is almost impossible that someone of pure Jewish descent (not a ger) would be a match for a non-Jew. Gift of Life cannot call themselves a Jewish organization, but they do clearly say they set up drive in predominantly Jewish neighborhoods in order to find matches for the Jewish patients.
