Off-duty Lakewood Police Officers of the Local P.B.A. Local No. 71 will take on the Lakewood Board of Education Teachers Union this coming weekend in a charity Basketball game.
The event, “Hoops for Hope”, will help raise funds for Hurricane Sandy Relief projects throughout the area, and local food banks.
The game will be held at 6 PM this Friday evening, January 11, at the Lakewood High School gymnasium, 855 Somerset Avenue.
“I hear the Teachers Association are going to “stomp” us on Friday, I think Friday night, we will be the teachers and they’re gonna be taken to school!”, says Local 71 President Gary Przewoznik.
Przewoznik adds, “Though the Jewish community won’t be able to attend the game due to Shabbos, whatever support we can get from the rest of the community, is greatly appreciated.”
Entry to the game is $1 per person, or a non-perishable food item. Children under 5 are free.
For further information, you can contact Events Coordinator Officer Lynn Miller at 732-364-0071. TLS.
