BARUCH DAYAN HA’EMES: We regret to inform you of the passing of R’ Nota Koslowitz A’h, who was Niftar a short time ago while on vacation. R’ Nota felt ill and went to the Hospital where he went in to Cardiac Arrest from what appears to be a Heart Attack. He was approximatley 60 years old.
The Levaya will be taking place tomorrow at BMG at 12:00 p.m. TLS/YWN
Bde
This is mamesh a huge tragedy. R’ nota was one of the most geshmak & loved guys anywhere. He always had a sharp vurt or a good story to say. He has ke”h a large family, most of them still @ home. H-Shem Yerachem.
bde, i remember him well, when i first came to BMG around 15 years ago
he helped me settle in and gave me chizuk, i was a young bachur coming from a small yeshiva
Boruch Dayan Emes. May his neshama have an Aliyah & be Kapara for Klal yisroel.
always a person going in the ways of humility, staying behind the scenes of honor & respect….
MAY WE ALL ONLY HEAR OF SIMCHA
i cant get over it
may hashem send a nechamah to his family
he will be greatly missed
Many years ago, my Rebbe at the Beztalel Hebrew Day School sent me and one or two other boys to learn b’chavrusa with bochurim at BMG. R’ Nota was the bochur I learned with. I didn’t know it then, but the word was geshmak: he just loved to learn and to make you feel like you were the most important kid in the world. I am shocked and saddened by this awful loss of a wonderful yid who was masphia on me and many others to love yiddishkeit with nothing more than the strength of his goodness and love for fellow Jews. BD”E. May Hashem wipe the tears from every face…
He owned the store on Second Street?

so so sad and terrible news. such a nice family. may we only share in simchos. such a tragedy. 🙁
Until tonight we lived in “a velt MIT Reb Nota, and from now on in a velt un Reb Nota”
Wow I’m best friends with his son I’m crying oh hashem help us all please this is so hard for me
Does his משפחה live on 7th??
lets use our seichel and not make letzonos of such a terrible tragedy like number 7 did may we see moshiach come soon and end all the tzoros
I am deeply saddened by this tragic loss to klal Yisroel and to Lakewood in particular. As a Bachur I ate by him Shalosh Seudos every week and him and his rebbetzin provided for me a home away from home. May all his wonderful deeds that are mentioned and read on this site be an aliya for his neshoma!
There are some good points made here and some not so smart. If you need to walk at night try to buddy up and stay in well light and open areas. Do not walk thru dark shortcuts and in unlight trails. Remember there are safety in numbers and carry a cane or umbrella if you must, or buy a legal size pepper spray which goes on a key chain. Use common sense and you will be ok. Again leave the criminals for the police to catch.
R’ Nota we hope all the R’ Akiva Aigers and your Rebbe R’ Nochum come you antkegen may you be a melitz yosher for your whole family and all your yedidim who loved you so much and for all of klal yisroel
Who ever met R’ Nota just one time became his friend for life. He was a very special person . Beside’s being a talmud chacham and yiraeh shomayim who was medadik in halachah , but when it came to chesad he would go out of his way for any one even if he did not know the person. The way he spoke to non jewish people in such honor to make sure he did not make a chilul hashem that the person thought yidden were kodouch. R’ Nota ,may you be a Melitz Yosher for your family, for your friend ,for Lakewood ,and all of klal yisrael.
It is very painful to the entire world, the loss of such a great man. He was a father/mentor to so many hundreds of people and did everything quietly and hidden so he gets no Kovod for it in return. Hundreds of local people got financial support from his charity activities. In addition to the American Teshuva world that was mainly credit to him
“All the way from yerushulaim” No nota lives on courtney rd he sells the esroigem
What a terrible loss ,those who knew him even casually can attest to the fact that he was “toichoi kebari” he was kullie torah im middos …he was the biggest unuv you can imagine he showd tremendous respect for every yid no matter how frum they were he was a shining example of how true ahavas yisroel is supposed to be . We the younger generation of lakewood have alot to learn from reb Nuta ZTZ’l how to treat a fellow yid weather he wears a white or blue shirt weather he is a lamdin or a working fellow .He thought us whats the ikur …We all need to shteig in toira and middois every individual in his own way and never be judgemental of another yid ….he is a caparah for all of lakewood and klal yisroel ,when hashem takes such a gem from us someone so unique with such greatness and humbelness from before our very midst, its time to wake up and reevaluate our own behavior .May he be a malits yoisher for all of klal yisroel and sadly but true LAKEWOOD WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN .He clearly was a manhig and a rosh hayesivah for all of us .. “AL EILA ANI BOICHIYA ” IT HURTS SO MUCH ! its not to be believed how devastating his departure will be ,we need so many more Reb Nutas to inspire us to tell us a deher on the parsha to share a maisa from the brisker ruv to tell us pusiter pshat in rashi to speak about current events and have him point out how yad hashem is there …to have that smile on his face while he says good morning to every single person …and most of all how every person was put on a pedastal while they schmussed with the heliger REB NUTA …Those who knew him well know exactly what im talking about. The life of Reb Nuta should be put into a musser sefer where it should become a staple of everyones daily limud . I cant say more now only because im trembling and crying …..Be a malitz yoisher for your family and to klal yisroel ….we will never forget you ….you touched our lifes forever and we are grateful for that ……..’THE REBBE REB NUTA YEHI ZICHROI BORUCH”
