R Mendel was the Dean/Rosh HaYeshiva since its inception… his brother R Yitzchok Shlit”a took over his brother R’Moshe Zatza”l!
This article is correct, I think you’re confusing this with the one in Yeshiva World..
bde so sad
Bde!
What a special unbelievable person what a beautiful family he left
a person That dedicated his life to Lakewood and to the Klal what a tremendous loss to Lakewood and to the whole Klal Yisroel and bfrat to 8th street he was a zechus for the block and a tzurah to look up too
He should be a meliletz yoisher for his chosheva rebtzin and for his beautiful family and to the whole Lakewood
What a tremendous loss !!
A broken neighbor
in addition to all the klal work that he was involved in one thing that very few people know is that he started the co-op l’sheim shamayim and did work voluntarily so that the oilam should pay cost price for groceries. I remember him shlepping milk crates down to the original co-op in the yeshiva apartments. A REAL TORAHDIKE YID>who came from a rabunishe family. May the family have a nechama and he should be a meilitz yoisher for all of them. TNZB”H
Big loss for the yeshiva and klal nothing for himself only for the talmidim
Oy Oy, Reb Mendel was an ish emes. He was a ruach chaim. I still remember the days we learnt in the Kollel together, he was the chius of the entire chaburah. He always thought of others. Never wanted any recognition. Helped so many get shtelers and never let them know that he got them the shteler! A true tzadik.
his whole mispacha should have a nechamah
Is anyone know levieya info?2
BDE. So sad he did everything lshaim shamayim he didn’t demand kavod what a good person.
BDE the greatest of men. So sad. He was the founder and leader of Keren Hatora since it started not only since R moshes passing. He made so many hundreds of great people. May his mishpacha have a nechama knowing how much good hes done in his lifetime. Yehi Zichro Baruch.
He would sit for hours looking at esrogim l’toeles hatzibur for loads of people he didn’t even know
please stay in your homes and have your children either play in their front or back yards. Please do not let them play with other children on the block where they live. please , we have to beat this ……

the phone number to lavaya doesnt work. Bde
I was a parent in the school for approx 22 yrs straight. I remember when they were building the 2nd St. Bldg. He had not 1 but 2 heart attacks. He was non-stop working to get the bldg moving and raising funds.
He gave mamesh his whole “zich” for the yeshiva. Mamesh ran himself ragged, till the Doctors told him to give it up. So he relented, just a teeny, teeny bit.
Then he did almost the same thing with Keren. How many meetings with parents did we sit through, trying to figure ways to get the bldg built. It was non-stop. Period.
And, let’s be honest, did I ever thank him enough ? Sure I told him Shkoiach by the siddur party &/or the gemara party, but, really, does that suffice ? Not quite.
BDE.
Yehi Zichro Boruch.
The only way we could beat this terrible tzara is tefillah, tefillah, tefillah and teshuva. Until then we can do our hishtadlus with socail distancing, but ultimatley only Hashem could help
