It with much regret we inform you of the Petirah of Hagaon Rav Yecheskel Roth Zatzal moments ago.

The Rav collapsed at his 53rd Street home approximately 8:00 AM this morning, and all resuscitation efforts were unfortunately unsuccessful.

The Rav, known as the Karlsburger Rav, nearly 90 years old, was known around the globe for dealing with some of the most complex Halachic Shailos. Following 9/11, the Rav was presented with some of the most difficult Aguna Shailos and more.

In his younger years, Rav Yecheskel resided in Eretz Yisroel, where he was rising to tremendous levels of learning, and Kedusha. His potential at a young age was noticed by the Satmar Rebbe Zatzal, who chose Rav Yecheskel to become Rav and Posek in America nearly 50 years ago.

Over the years, the Rav was Mechaber many Sefarim titled Divrei Yecheskel, including the Shailos and Teshuvas, Divrei Yecheskel on the Parsha and more.

The Rav would spend many weeks of the year at the Kever of Reb Shimon Bar Yochai, where he would write Chidushei Torah, and Daven for the thousands who came to him with Kvitlach.

The most recent trip for the Rav, was to Europe, where he went to visit the Bais Hachaim of the Baal Maareh Yecheskel, the Rav’s grandfather.

The Rav leaves behind many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including many who are Dayanim and Rabbonim.

The Levaya is scheduled to take place at 2:00 PM today at the Shul on 53rd Street, between 15-16 Avenues. Kevurah is expected to take place in Meron.
